Taxis Versus Car Buying PDF Print E-mail

You recently rented a car in Atlanta, or maybe you rented a truck in Atlanta, or even you rented a Van in Atlanta, either way it made you decide that you wanted to replace your current car back home. Purchasing a vehicle must be approached with a certain level of caution and care, you must find a balance of safety and features in order to find the car that is right for you.

The first and most important thing to remember when buying a car is that forgettable term “safety”. Since once you purchase the vehicle it will most likely be either your way of getting around town or someone you knows primary form of transportation for a while safety must be constantly respected. Unfortunately when you go to car dealerships the dealers tend to overstretch the truth about their cars safety and convince you only to pay attention to the features that you really want.

They tell you that it was heated seats with a 3 way adjustable lumbar support or a leather wrapped steering wheel perfect for driving in all temperatures or a heads up dash board display. They might even convince you that you really need that satellite navigation system and those eighteen inch rims in order to make sure that you fit in with the car. All of these features create an illusion in the buyers mind, your mind, that the vehicle is right for you. Once you determine that a certain car is the right one for you, you tend to get into a mindset that causes you to convince your car that the car you want also has the other features that you must worry about. More often than not it will not, because it will be the most bang for our buck it won’t include special locking seatbelts or four side airbags.

The next thing you need to do once you find the vehicle that you think you want is to go online and read the literature about that vehicle. Find out things like whether or not it is dependable, if it maintains stability at high speeds, is it relatively cheap to repair, or can you get a good warranty? Once you decide that the vehicle passes that test you should look around online to figure out what the dealership invoice pricing is and then call the dealership and make them an offer. Absolutely do not go into the dealership after you have made the decision that you are sure you want to buy the vehicle until you are there to pay, the dealers want to move their product and as such are often willing to lower prices if you hold out on them and act like you may not be too interested.
